 Tiaras & Wedding Headbands

Changing bridal fashion has resulted in a myriad of new, stunning and beautiful, styles of tiaras and wedding headbands available for today's bride to gain a truly individual look. A few years ago fashion dictated that a bride wore a tiara, or less commonly  a crown, and these bridal tiaras were in the traditional princess style with a peaked centre and worn with an up-do. This is not the case now - brides now have an immense choice of bridal headpieces and tiaras made with pearls, crystals, lace, diamante, and with the softeness of silk adding yet another dimension.

Traditional tiaras are built up from the base to give height to the tiara and are worn on the top and centre of the head, often with a veil, and with the classic peak at the centre.

A more contemporary style of bridal tiara can be worn in front of an up-style but it has a different shape without the central peak like this chic freshwater pearl tiara.

Side tiaras are bridal headpieces which have some height to them but this is from a side spray and these can be worn in two ways either like an alice band coming down hehind the ears or back at an angle like a traditionla tiara in front of hair worn up or back combed to give height on the top of the head

Wedding headbands or bridal hairbands are now available in hundreds of styles, fabrics and colours. A classic style of bridal headband is worn like an alice band but the latest bridal fashion is the circular style which goes right around the head and is either elasticated in some way or ties ta the back of the head with ribbon and these circular headband can often be worn in different ways - across the forehead, called a forehead headband  or forehead tiara,  or higher back on the head and coming down behind the ears

When choosing your bridal headpiece take your cue from the style, colour and any embellishments on your bridal dress and look for one which will compliment this.  Whichever way you and your bridesmaids are going to wear your hair on the wedding day should be decided first as this will dictate what design structure the headpiece should be. Then take a look around at all of the fabulous tiaras and wedding headbands to pick the ones which will complete your gorgeous wedding day ensemble.
