Buying Bridal Jewellery

Where is the best place to buy bridal jewellery? This is a question often in the minds of brides - is it best to buy online, from a bridal boutique, from a local jewellery maker, or from a high street store.  Bridal jewellery is probably the most important accessory for a bride after choosing her wedding dress and the choice can be quite bewildering.

Take your first opportunity to see some bridal jewellery first hand in the bridal shop when you are ordering your dress. Ask if they have some necklaces, bracelets and bridal hair accessories you can try on with your dress to give you an idea of what sort of bridal accessories suit you and your style of dress. The choice might be quite limited but the accessories are likely to have been chosen to compliment the wedding dresses they have in stock.

There are pros and cons to buying your bridal jewellery online or on the high street. Many high street shops stock mass produced wedding jewellery which has the disadvantage of lack of originality but the advantage is that you can see the jewellery first hand and try it on to see if you like it.. The choice online will be greater and you will find both manufactured and handmade bridal jewellery available from a large number of online stores.

Buying manufactured wedding jewellery is simple and straightforward as the jewellery is held in stock. However, if you wish to buy jewellery which can be adapted to your requirements and which you are very unlikley to see anyone else wearing then handmade is the route to go. Handmade bridal jewellery also has the advantage that you can ask for wedding jewellery for the bridesmaids and flower girls to be made in simpler designs which coordinates with your bridal jewellery.

The simplest way to make sure that a necklace, bracelet and earrings all match perfectly is to buy all of your bridal jewellery from the same place at the same time. Faux pearls and crystals, for example, are not all identical and vary from one manufacture to another and freshwater pearls being natural gemstones vary from one strand to another!

Price is another factor to consider. Manufactured costume bridal jewellery is likely to be cheaper than handmade costume jewellery as the pieces are produced in their thousands and you are likely to find some high street stores selling jewellery at very low prices. Some shops, on the other hand, sell high end fine gemstone and diamond bridal jewellery which can be considered if this is within your budget. Diamond jewellery can also be custom made for a unique and valuable jewellery choice.

Innovative design ideas are likely to be found in the handmade wedding jewellery sector, from what we have observed over the years. Small designers all over the world are continually coming up with beautiful new designs and manufactures pick up on some of those ideas to take that bridal jewellery into production.

Planning your wedding takes a lot of time and effort and a good time to think about buying your accessories is when you can try on your gown and see whether you need a necklace, bracelet, earrings or brooch as bridal jewellery to complete your stunning bridal look.
