Wedding Bridal Headband Trends 2009

"celebrating 40 years since Woodstock"

If you want a bridal look which is bang on trend - the very latest vintage designs are the hippie style, late 60's, early 70's stretchy wedding headbands.

We are now 40 years since Woodstock and coming back full circle with these hippie headbands worn as fashion accessories and by celebrities as a boho chic wedding headband.

For a true hippie look wear the bridal headband horizontally across the forehead and around the back of the head over the hair all the way around. But if you don't feel bold enough to go with that look then wear one over your hair at the front and down at an angle at the back. The great thing about these elasticated headbands is that you can experiment with them in wearing different ways to see what suits you and your hair style best - try one out over the hair at the front and then going under the hair at the back with a half up half down style.

Beads and braids and of course flowers are all reminiscent of this era. Flower Power - a phrase coined at the time and one which is still remembered - was when flowers were used as symbols of peace and love and worn mostly in the hair, but sometimes around the neck and embroidered on clothes. I suppose the beads of the hippie era followed on from the Beatnik phase of the late 50's early 60's when beads were worn around the neck on long, long strands.
